District 1 Rep. Chris Reder resigns from his position

District 1 representative Chris Reder announced his resignation from the South Dakota State Legislature Thursday. In a statement about his decision, Reder says he served district one the best he could, but did not disclose why he was giving up his position. He went on to say he was resigning for personal and professional reasons. Reder’s tenure after getting elected has been tenuous. Shortly before the last legislative session the representative sent corespondents to his colleagues saying he was not going to serve his term, before ultimately doing so. Following the sessions, questions regarding his residency were raised. South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden will appoint a replacement for Reder.
