District 1 Republican state senator Michael Rohl has publicly announced his endorsement of incumbent governor Larry Rhoden in the upcoming GOP gubernatorial runoff primary election. Rhoden is facing off against Aberdeen businessman Toby Doeden. The election will be Tuesday July 28th and early voting is already underway. In a post on his campaign Facebook page, senator Rohl says Rhoden is a man of honorable character, is more competent and qualified and is the same person when no one is watching. Rhoden was also endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police, South Dakota chapter this week, the largest law enforcement organization in South Dakota. The winner of this runoff election will face Democrat Dan Ahlers this coming November.
