Keloland News/Emmerson college poll shows Gov. Rhoden with large lead over Aberdeen businessman Toby Doeden

According to a new poll released Wednesday by Keloland News and Emerson College Poll, incumbent governor Larry Rhoden leads by a wide margin against his GOP gubernatorial runoff opponent Aberdeen businessman Toby Doeden. According to the poll, which spoke with 500 registered Republican voters, 62 percent support Rhoden while 32 percent chose Doeden and seven percent were undecided. The poll has a margin of error at 4.3 percent. Doeden finished in first place in a four way race against Rhoden, Dusty Johnson and Jon Hansen with 31 percent of the vote, but did not reach the necessary 35 percent threshold thus triggering this runoff election. According to the poll, respondents who did not choose Rhoden in the four way race have switched to his side in droves. According to the findings, poll respondents who voted for Johnson are picking Rhoden 95 percent of the time to five percent for Doeden while Hansen supporters are choosing Rhoden 69 percent of the time to 31 percent respectively. The election will be held Tuesday July 28
th with early voting already underway.
