Fire hydrant flow testing to take part in parts of Aberdeen Wednesday

Beginning at approximately 9am Wednesday, July 22, 2025, the Aberdeen Fire Rescue will begin flow-testing fire hydrants in the following area:

6^th Ave. SE to 1^st Ave. SE

Between

S. Dakota St. & S. High St.

The fire department will be opening hydrants and residents will experience some water pressure changes, and in some instances the water will be disturbed to the point of discoloring or appearing rusty.  The project will continue until all hydrants in this area have been tested.  Any questions or concerns can be reported to the Public Works Department at 605-626-7010.
