The Freedom Caucus of the South Dakota State Legislature has released a statement regarding the proposed new men’s state prison, saying it will oppose the legislation. In a press release sent out Wednesday the Freedom Caucus, which has nine members, calls on the legislature to reject an unwise billion prison send.
The current proposal is to build a 1,500 square foot facility in Lincoln County for an estimated $650 million.
