South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden’s campaign has announced the incumbent has agreed to participate in two debates during the general election. Governor Rhoden’s campaign says he will participate in the South Dakota State Fair debate and a late September debate co-hosted by South Dakota Public Broadcasting and South Dakota News Watch. Governor Rhoden is squaring off with challenger Democrat Dan Ahlers. Lieutenant Governor Tony Venhuizen has also challenged Ahler’s unnamed running mate to a lieutenant governor’s debate to be named at a later date.
