Human remains found on the Pennington/Custer county line

Authorities in Pennington County are investigating human remains found south of Hill City near the Pennington and Custer county lines. According to the Pennington County Sheriff’s Department, the badly decomposed remains were discovered by a hiker in the area. The body had no identifying information, so authorities have scheduled further analysis to attempt to determine the cause of death and identity.
