Sioux Falls woman wanted for kidnapping arrested

A Sioux Falls woman wanted for kidnapping an infant has been arrested. On Tuesday, police sought the public’s help in locating Chosen Butler, a baby boy who was reported missing on February 28th. Police say the baby was placed in the care of the suspect Betty Jewel Cross who then refused to return the baby. An arrest warrant was then issued for Cross who was located by authorities in Detroit Michigan Wednesday. The child was found unharmed and placed into the care of protective custody in Michigan. The South Dakota Department of Social Services Child Protection will facilitate the baby’s return to his family. Cross will be extradited to South Dakota to face charges.
