According to a new poll released by South Dakota News Watch and the Chieseman Center for Democracy at the University of South Dakota, incumbent Governor Larry Rhoden and Representative Dusty Johnson lead the way with state Representative Jon Hansen and Aberdeen businessman Toby Doeden gaining ground when it comes to the race for the GOP nomination to be the state’s next Governor.
Pollsters spoke with 502 registered Republican voters between October 16 through the 20th and found 28 percent of respondents preferred Dusty Johnson. Behind him was Governor Larry Rhoden at 27 percent, following by Doden at 15 percent and Hansen at 10 percent. 21 percent of respondents were undecided.
