June 3rd city council election confirmed following Monday recount

The results of the June 3^rd city council election in the southeast district was confirmed Monday with Chad Nilson edging Kurt Preszler by a single vote. Following the June 3^rd election Preszler requested a recount due to how close the results were. The recount took Monday night under a three person recount panel. Results include Nilson 124 votes, Preszler 123 and Tiffany Langer 79. Three ballots were not counted because voters chose more than one candidate. Preszler had told the Aberdeen Insider he would accept the results of the election, but sought due diligence because of how close the results were.
