The South Dakota Department of corrections has announced another death of an inmate Sunday. According to the DOC 76-year-old Dennis Lufkins passed away on June 15th in t he Jameson Annex medical unit. Lufkins was serving a life sentence for first-degree manslaughter out of Roberts County. Lufkins is the 11th inmate to pass way under DOC custody in 2025.
