(Timberwolves.com) The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed in principle to acquire the draft rights to the 33rd overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, guard Isaiah Evans, from the Brooklyn Nets in a trade that is expected to be finalized at a later date.
Evans, 6-6, appeared in 38 games (all starts) for Duke University this past season, averaging 15.0 points on 43.3% shooting, including 36.1% from three, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 28.1 minutes per game. Following the 2025-26 season, Evans was named the ACC Sixth Man of the Year and named to the All-ACC Third Team. In two seasons with the Blue Devils, Evans saw action in 74 games (41 starts), averaging 11.0 points on 43.2% shooting, including 38.0% from deep and 2.2 rebounds in 21.2 minutes per contest.
The Fayetteville, N.C native averaged 17.6 points per game in seven ACC Tournament and NCAA Tournament games in 2026, en route to being named to the ACC All-Tournament First Team and NCAA East Regional All-Tournament Team. On March 12, Evans posted career highs of 32 points and seven threes against Florida State in an ACC Tournament win.
Prior to his time at Duke, Evans attended North Mecklenburg High School in Huntersville, N.C. and was named the 2024 North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year, a 2023-24 McDonald’s High School All-American and MVP of the 2024 Iverson Classic.
The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has selected forward Trey Kaufman-Renn with the 59th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Kaufman-Renn, 6-9, played four years at Purdue University, appearing in 147 games (114 starts), averaging 11.3 points on 56.6% shooting, 5.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 21.8 minutes per game. During his senior season, he saw action in 37 games (all starts), averaging 14.2 points on 57.8% shooting, 8.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 28.1 minutes per game, finishing the season as a finalist for the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award.
The Sellersburg, Ind. native finished his collegiate career as one of only three players in Big Ten history to record 1,600+ points, 750+ rebounds and 225+ assists while shooting at least 55.0%+ from the field, joining Glen Rice and Trayce Jackson-Davis.
On March 26, Kaufman-Renn tipped-in a missed shot with 0.6 seconds remaining to defeat Texas and help the Boilermakers advance to the Elite Eight of the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
Kaufman-Renn earned First-Team All-Big Ten and an All-American Honorable mention as a junior after averaging 20.1 points per game on 59.5% shooting during the 2024-25 season.
