Minnesota Wild front office conducts end of the season exit interview

The Minnesota Wild front office gave its exit interview to the media following the team being eliminated from the post season. The Wild are the only team the North American big four sports league, NBA, NHL, NFL and MLB to make the playoffs 8 or more seasons and fail to advance to the second round.

Wild General Manager Bill Guerin praised his team and coaching staff, but also said he is not satisfied with the results…

The Wild suffered serious injuries to multiple important players this season, that kept them out for months. The team was in a similar predicament last season. Guerin didn’t have a real answer to why these injuries occurred, but instead said his focus will be on adding depth to try and mitigate them…

The Wild enter this coming offseason with flexibility salary cap wise they have not had in years. In 2021 the team bought out the remaining four years of Zach Parise and Ryan Sutter’s contracts, which led to a large dead salary cap hit. Those contract will now be coming off the books. Guerin says he hopes to be active, but cautious come free agency…
