The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has confirmed an EF1 tornado did touchdown in Huron Thursday July 2nd. The Tornado touched down near US Highway 14 just west of Ohio avenue. Forecasters say the tornado stayed on the ground for 2.5 miles, running nearly parallel to highway 14 for approximately five minutes from 4:56 p.m. To 5:01 p.m. Estimated peak winds with the tornado were 90 miles per hour while the maximum width was determined to be 75 yards.
