National Weather Services uses satellite technology to detect Deuel county fire

The National Weather Service reports satellite technology allowed it to detect a fire in Deuel county Saturday afternoon. The fire started near Gary according to a post from the Deuel county sheriff’s office. The National Weather Service used advanced monitoring technology to report the fire before any local reports were made. The fire was reported to authorities around 1:00 p.m. Firefighters from Gary and Clear Lake reported to the scene and were able to contain the fire without further incident.
