South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden officially signed HB1082 into law Friday. The bill will take approximately $600,000 out of the general fund to cover meals for South Dakota children enrolled in the free or reduced lunch program. The bill is expected to cover 10,000 students statewide each month. Governor Rhoden has announced at a fundraiser for his re-election campaign he would sign the bill last week.
