The Brown County Sheriff’s Department responded to a reported paraglider accident in the northeast part of Aberdeen Wednesday. According to a release from the department, sheriff deputies, the Frederick Fire Department, Aberdeen Medics, Careflight and the South Dakota highway patrol responded to the accident.
Two individuals were found at the scene of the accident and were transported to Avera St. Luke’s in Aberdeen. Another passed away from their injuries.
The accident occurred around 7:20 p.m. in rural Brown County, northwest of Westport and south of Willow Creek.
The FAA and NTSB have been contacted. No further details were released.
