Pierre native and one time Oahe Capital Cater Sanderson made history over the weekend, becoming the first South Dakota born player to be selected in the NHL draft. Sanderson was selected in the sixth round, 169th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 17-year-old forward began his hockey career in high school with the Oahe Caps in 2021-22.
