The Minnesota Twins are no longer for sale according to a letter sent to Twins fans via the team’s social media Wednesday. The Pohlad family has owned the team since 1984 when the late Carol Pohlad purchased form Calvin Griffith. The family announced in October of 2024 they would put the team up for sale. However, in the letter sent out Wednesday, the Pohlads announced they would remain the principle owner of the Twins and would be bringing on two investment groups on as minority owner stakes. The Pohlad family ownership has had highs and lows, including the team winning its two only World Series in 1987 and 1992, but more recently cutting payroll after a successful 2024 season and trading away 11 players at the deadline this year.
