Rural firefighters responded to a fire in a field Saturday in Spink county. According to the Redfield Fire Department, crews responded to a small fire on the edge of a field and quickly extinguished the flames. Investigators believe the fire was started by a small lithium ion battery. Upon further investigation, firefighters believe the batteries belonged to a target thrower. No one was injured in the incident and firefighters encourage everyone to be safe this hunting/harvesting season.
