Richmond Lake spillway project gets funding bill out of House of Representatives

An appropriations bill which would help fund the Richmond Lake Spillway project passed two major hurdles Tuesday. The bill was passed out of a Joint Committee on Appropriations and the full House of Representatives. It will now go to the Senate for final consideration. House Bill 1026 will appropriate $13.05 million for the spillway project. Local lawmakers spoke in favor of the legislation pointing out the current structure at Richmond Lake is considered a quote “high-hazard structure.”
