An appropriations bill which would help fund the Richmond Lake Spillway project passed two major hurdles Tuesday. The bill was passed out of a Joint Committee on Appropriations and the full House of Representatives. It will now go to the Senate for final consideration. House Bill 1026 will appropriate $13.05 million for the spillway project. Local lawmakers spoke in favor of the legislation pointing out the current structure at Richmond Lake is considered a quote “high-hazard structure.”
