South Dakota Democrats introduced Steven McCleery to the media at a press conference Wednesday. McCleery has been selected to sever as lieutenant governor, running alongside Democrat gubernatorial candidate Dan Ahlers.
Ahlers spoke before McCleery at the event and cited healthcare and McCleery’s knowledge of rural healthcare needs vital to his decision…
McCleery is a Sisseton area farmer and former District 1 state lawmaker. He has also served in rural healthcare administration.

The two will square off against incumbent Republican Governor Larry Rhoden and his running mate Tony Venhuizen in the general election this coming November.
