A South Dakota state Senator is facing two counts of offering false or forge instrument for filing charges. According to the Minnehah county sheriff’s office, State Senator Thomas Pischke of Dell Rapids had an arrest warrant issued on the charges mentioned June 22nd. An investigation into potentially fraudulent Republican Precinct Committeeman and Committeewoman forms started in late march led to the charges. The state’s auditor’s office alerted about the potential fraud after it found 16 forms with mismatched signatures. Pischke voluntarily turned himself in to the Minnehaha county jail on June 23rd. He has been released on a personal recognizance bond. The South Dakota Republican party says Pischke has agreed to step back from party obligations effective immediately.
