The South Dakota High School Activities Association’s board of directors voted not to sanction baseball at its meeting Wednesday in Pierre. However, the board did say it will continue considering possibly sanctioning it in the future. South Dakota and Wyoming are the only two states in the nation who’s governing high school activities organization does not sanction baseball. Main concerns raised at this time about sanctioning baseball included impacts the sport could have on the budget and challenges some schools may have in finding enough players.
