Senator Thune comments on the deal to end the longest government shutdown in US history

A deal has been struck between Senate Republicans and 10 Senate Democrats to end the longest federal government shutdown in US History. After 40 days the government is set to reopen with Republicans promising Democrats a vote on ACA subsidies likely in December. South Dakota US Senator John Thune and Senate Majority Leader spoke about the shutdown coming to an end Sunday…

The eight senate Democarts who crossed the isle to vote with Republicans to open the government include Angus King of Maine, who is a registered Indpendent but caucuses with the Democrats, Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, Jack Rosen of Nevada, Dick Durbin of Illinois, Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire and Tim Kaine of Virginia.
