A Sioux Falls woman wanted in regards to a kidnapping case has been extradited back to South Dakota from Detroit to face charges. 38-year-old Betty Jewel Cross made her first court appearance this week on kidnapping charges. She is accused of kidnapping an infant boy Chosen Butler. She was given temporary custody of the child and refused to return him to his parents, fleeing the state. She was ultimately located in Detroit with the child who was unharmed. The baby was reported missing on February 28th. She and the baby were located on March 4th.
