South Dakota is the second state in the nation most addicted to gambling. According to a new report done by the website WalletHub, South Dakota is only behind Nevada when it comes to gambling addiction and is ahead of Montana, Pennsylvania and Mississippi which round off the top five. South Dakota is the only state in our area within the top 10. According to Wallethub, the website used 20 key metrics to determine its rankings including gambling laws, revenue, addiction rates and availability. South Dakota has one of the highest rates of gaming machines and casinos per capita in the United States.
