A person was injured in an Aberdeen shooting Saturday June 21st. According to the Aberdeen Police Department, officers were called to the southwest part of town around 11:40 a.m. on a domestic disturbance call. Upon arrival, officers attempted to arrest a suspect who retrieved a weapon from another room and held it to his own head. Police say in a release officers attempted to deescilate the situation, but the suspect shot himself with the pistol. Life saving measures were taken by officers on scene and the suspect was transported to an Aberdeen hospital where they remain hospitalized in serious condition.
