Three people rescued on Dry Lake #2 Wednesday as severe weather rolls in

(KWAT – Watertown, SD) A close call this (Wednesday) morning for three people in a boat on Dry Lake #2 just north of the town of Willow Lake in Clark County.

They were out fishing when a fast-moving thunderstorm rolled in, capsizing the boat in very strong winds.

Multiple agencies responded, including Codington County Search and Rescue.

Clark County Emergency Manager David Lewis says a Clark police officer was also on the scene, launched a Game Fish and Parks Department boat, and got to the three individuals and got them to shore.

He says the three anglers were still, “with the boat,” that had drifted half way across the lake in the stormy conditions.

Lewis says the three individuals were met by an ambulance on shore to be checked out.

The rescue happened around 9:30 this morning.
