USD professor fired after making disparaging comments about Charlie Kirk assassination

A University of South Dakota Professor has been fired following comments he made on social media regarding the assassination of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk. Professor Michael Hook called Kirk a “hate-spreading Nazi” in the wake of his death. The South Dakota Board of Regents fired Hook under SDBOR policy 4.4.8. Some USD students have now started a petition in the hopes of getting Hook reinstated.
