University of South Dakota running back L.J Phllips Jr. has been named the STATS Perform FCS National Offensive Player of the Week. In his first state Phillips Jr. rushed 35 times for 301 yards, averaging 8.6 pards per carry. It was tied for the 2nd most rushing yards in a single game in USD history, the first running back in the FCS era for USD to eclipse 300 yards in a single game and had two 40 yard rushes. USD’s next football game will be Saturday taking on Drake at home. Kick off will be at 1:00 p.m.
