Vikings defensive legend Jim Marshall passes away

Minnesota Vikings legend Jim Marshall passed away Tuesday at the age of 87. According to the team, Marshall died after a period of hospitalization. Marshall was a defensive end who played 20 NFL seasons primarily with the Minnesota Vikings. Marshall was part of the famous “Purple People Eaters defense the Vikings had from 1967 to 1977. He recovered 30 fumbles during his career with is still an NFL record. He is one of 11 players to have played in all four of the Vikings Super Bowl appearances in the 1970s.
