Aberdeen Police arrest 26-year-old on assault charges Tuesday

The Aberdeen Police Department reports a 26-year-old suspect has been arrested regarding an assault within the city Tuesday morning. According to the Aberdeen Police Department the incident occurred in the 500 block of South 1^st street. Upon arrival officers found a 67-year-old man with what was described as significant injuries. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but ultimately was flown to Sioux Falls. Following that a 26-year-old suspect was arrested on felony assault charges. Law enforcement says the victim and the suspect knew one another and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
