Co-Op Architecture partner Spencer Sommers announces candidacy for District 3 House




Co-op Architecture partner Spencer Sommers has announced his candidacy for the South Dakota State Legislature, seeking one of the two District 3’s House of Representatives seats.

In a release about his candidacy, Sommers called himself a next-generation leader in northeast South Dakota who will focus on economic vitality, attraction and retention and focused results.

He also highlighted his service on multiple boards in the Aberdeen area including the Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Association, Development Corp, Hapi Homes and more.

He did not list his political affiliation in the release, but according to voter registration records Sommers is a registered Republican.

Aberdeen is currently represented by Republicans Al Novstrop and Brandei Schaefbauer in the South Dakota House of Representatives who have not yet announced whether or not they intend on seeking another term.
