Cows killed in train/semi accident

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office reports cattle were killed Wednesday when a semi and BNSF railway train collided in the early morning hours near Aberdeen. According to sheriff’s office, the accident occurred on 384th avenue or county road 19, which is about half a mile north of Aberdeen on US Highway 12. Approximately half the load of cattle were killed either during the accident or had to be put down. Multiple black cows were running at large after the accident, residents were encouraged to contact Brown County Dispatch at 605-626-7911 if they see cows out and about.
