The Dacotah Prairie Museum has announced the name of the full sized buffalo now on display at the museum. The buffalo will be known as Arthur D. Bison and Tokaheya. The first name was selected among 200 suggested by community members as part of a contest and was submitted by Northern State student and football player Cooper Waldner. Thokaheya pays homage to the legend of the bison among Native Americans and its history on the North American Plains.
