District 3 incumbent state senator Carl Perry has announced he will seek another term representing District 3 in the state senate. District three encompasses almost all of the city of Aberdeen. In a release about his re-election campaign, Perry says he emphasize integrity, steady leadership and a proven record of service. Perry was first elected to the state House of Representatives in 2017 and recently jumped over to the state senate in 2024. He will square off against Katie Washnok who has announced her candidacy for state senate in the upcoming June Republican primary.
