The South Dakota Secretary of State’s office is reminding voters, absentee or early voting for the Republican GOP gubernatorial runoff will begin Friday June 12th.
Voters who previously requested an absentee ballot are eligible to vote absentee in the runoff and will not need to submit a new application. If you want to vote absentee but did not request to do so during the primary election you must apply to your county auditor by July 28th at 5:00 p.m.
This is the first gubernatorial runoff election in state history. The winner goes onto the general election to take on Democrat Dan Ahlers.
