Distrcit 3 Republican Katie Washnok defeated incumbent Carl Perry for the GOP State Senate nomination.
This was a rematch from the same primary in 2024. In that race Perry defeated Washnok by 112 votes. This time, Washnok ran away with the victory, 63 percent to 37 percent.

After losing in 2024, Washnok has maintained she was not a bad candidate, she just ran in a bad cycle. In that race, Brown County saw just an 11 percent voter turnout. Turnout in this race was at 48 percent.
Washnok says that is proof citizens are more engaged this time around…
Democrats did not field a candidate for the District 3 State Seat and there is no Independents or third party candidates on the ballot. Meaning Washnok will now run unopposed for the seat, all but guaranteeing her a spot in the legislature.
