Hughes county man pulled from water dead Friday

A Hughes county man is dead following a boating accident in Potter County. According to Dakota Radio Group News, the Potter County Sheriff’s Office received a call Friday regarding two men in the water near the Dodge Draw Recreation Area, northwest of Gettysburg. Upon arrival, first responders recovered the body of a man identified as Toby Keller of Hill City who was in the water and was not wearing a life jacket. Life saving efforts were attempted, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Upon further investigation, officers found a trash bag full of beer cans and a bottle of whiskey. A second man was later arrested, identified as William Bradford of Hughes County. He faces charges including boating while intoxicated. An autopsy is planned for Keller to rule out any potential foul play.
