Marek Houston is a three-year starter at Wake Forest and helped the Demon Deacons make three straight NCAA tournaments, including reaching the College World Series in 2023. So far this year Houston has a .354 batting average, .458 on base percentage and a .597 slugging percentage. He is the second consecutive polished college shortstop the Twins have selected with their first orund pick. The Washington Nationals held the first overall pick and selected high school shortstop Ethan Willits with that pick.
