Minnesota Vikings officially name Nolan Teasley as next general manager

(Image courtesy of the Minnesota Vikings) The Minnesota Vikings have named Nolan Teasley as the team’s general manager. Teasley will lead the organization’s football operation after 13 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, including the past three as the Seahawks assistant general manager. During his tenure in Seattle, Teasley played a role in nine playoff appearances, three Super Bowl runs, and two championships – Super Bowl LX after the 2025 season and Super Bowl XLVIII following the 2013 season.

“Nolan brings tremendous football acumen and a proven track record of success from the past 13 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks,” said Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf. “Under the tutelage of General Manager John Schneider, he was a part of nine playoff teams, three Super Bowl appearances and two championships. He has a strong understanding of talent evaluation at both the collegiate and professional levels, significant experience with building a consistently competitive roster through the draft, free agency and trades, and he brings a disciplined, process-driven approach to the job. Putting Nolan together with Kevin O’Connell and Rob Brzezinski gives us three strong leaders with complementary skillsets.”

“What really impressed us in our discussions with Nolan and with people around the league was his wide range of experience in football operations,” said Vikings Owner/Chairman Zygi Wilf. “Nolan understands schematics and player traits at a high level, and that knowledge earns him credibility with each coaching staff he’s been around. As an assistant general manager, he was involved in every aspect of the operation, so he knows what is required to build a championship team and a productive environment. We are confident this dynamic structure of Nolan, Kevin and Rob is the best outcome for the Minnesota Vikings.”

As Seattle’s assistant general manager, Teasley oversaw football operations while working alongside President of Football Operations/General Manager John Schneiderin all aspects of player acquisition and team building. He assisted with roster construction and integrating data and analytics within the organization’s scouting process. Teasley also managed the collaboration between the scouting staff, research and analytics departments and the coaching staff. He was involved in evaluating talent from NFL rosters and practice squads throughout the year, as well as playing a large role in the team’s draft process.

“I am truly honored to join the Minnesota Vikings organization and grateful to the Wilf family for the opportunity to lead football operations for such a respected franchise,” said Teasley. “The Vikings have everything needed to compete at the highest level – a strong culture, great ownership, world-class facilities and an exceptional fan base. I look forward to working alongside Kevin O’Connell, Rob Brzezinski, our coaching staff, personnel department and the entire organization as we build a team Vikings fans can be proud of and one that competes for championships year after year.”

A native of Ellensburg, Wash., Teasley began his tenure in Seattle as an intern in the team’s scouting department in 2013 before being promoted to pro personnel scout (2014-16). Following one season as assistant director of pro personnel in 2017, Teasley spent five seasons as the director of pro personnel from 2018-22. He was integral in the team’s strategy for unrestricted free agency, the undrafted free agent process and year-round trade analysis. Teasley also scouted future opponents, coordinated free agent visits and tryouts and monitored NFL transactions in his previous roles.

Teasley graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in public relations in 2007 where he played running back for the Wildcats. He and his wife, Morgan, have four sons, Cruz, Jax, Jude and Nash.
