News Media Corporation, an organization that owns several local newspapers across east river South Dakota has announced it will be closing its doors permanently August 6th 2025. The Organization owns papers including the Brookings Register in Brookings, Moody County Enterprise in Flandreau, Daily Plainsman in Huron, and Redfield Press in Redfield. According to the company’s web site NMC has been in business for 43 years, operated over 150 publications and was located in five states.
