The president of the Oglala Sioux Tribe Frank Star Comes out has released a statement regarding Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s decision to not revoke Military Medals of Honors awarded to soldiers who carried out the wounded knee massacre.
The Wounded Knee Massacre occurred on December 29th 1890 on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. 250 Lakota people were killed including women and children in the incident. In the statement Star Comes Out called Secretary Hegseth’s decision despicable, untruthful and an insult to the Great Sioux Nation.
