One person injured in police chase Sunday in Brookings

One person was injured following a police chase within the city of Brookings Sunday morning. According to police, an officer with the Brookings Police Department attempted to stop a 2008 Black Dodge doing 47 in a 30 mile pr hour zone on 6^th street near Main avenue around 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. The driver did not respond and instead tried to flee, missing a bypass lane and overturning his vehicle. The driver identified as 24-year-old Brandon Kendall of Mitchell South Dakota suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Charges are currently pending in this case.
