Aberdeen Fire and Rescue was on the scene Friday of a residential fire. According to fire and rescue, no one was injured in the incident as two adults were able to escape a two-unit building in the 190 block of 17th avenue southwest around 6:30 p.m. One pet did die in the fire. Fire and Rescue says the fire was located in the basement and contained to the basement of the structure. The basement suffered major fire, smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire was deemed an accident according to Fire and Rescue. Crews were on the scene for about two hours. This is the fourth residential fire of consequence in Aberdeen since December 23rd.
