(Kelo.com – Sioux Falls, SD) Summit Carbon Solutions has its work cut out for it, as the company tries to salvage current plans to build a carbon capture pipeline through South Dakota and surrounding states.
The company asked for a suspension of its permit application in South Dakota after the legislature removed eminent domain powers from carbon dioxide pipeline projects.
Public Utilities Commissioners denied the request when the company’s attorney couldn’t say how a delay would affect Summit’s plans…a key point noted by Brian Jorde, the attorney for landowner opponents…
The Commission also delayed Jorde’s motion to deny Summit’s entire permit application.
The PUC takes up the issue again in less than two weeks.
