Keloland News reports a second person involved in the Mitchell Legion Baseball rape scandal is set to enter a guilty plea. According to the story Peyton Mandel will plead guilty to being an accessory to a felony and in exchange the rape charge he faces will be dropped. Mandel is scheduled to appear in a Rapid City court Monday. Mandel’s plea comes just days after 19-year-old Lincoln Bates agreed to a plea deal of being an accessory to a felony. Mandel and Bates were part of a group of six players who allegedly assaulted two 16-year-old teammates while staying overnight in a hotel in Rapid City during a tournament in in June of 2023.
