South Dakota US Senator and senate majority leader John Thune spoke on the floor of the senate Tuesday urging his Democrat colleagues to continue their appropriations work to avoid a partial government shutdown.
Democrats in the Senate have said they will not vote for these appropriation bills unless reforms are made to Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Border Patrol in the wake of two US citizens being shot and killed by federal agents in recent weeks.
