A Sisseton woman has been convicted of possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance. According to Dakota News Now, 29-year-old Laycie Williams was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on the intent to distribute charges along with four years on failure to appear. The sentences will be served consecutively making it a total of four years in federal prison followed by three years supervised release. The charges stem from February of 2023 when Williams received fentanyl pills from a confidant in Aberdeen. She shared the pill with a victim who ingested them and overdosed.
